Tiny Footprint Coffee is proud to be known as the world’s first carbon negative coffee. With a unique partnership between Roastery 7 and the Mindo Cloudforest Foundation – one a specialty coffee roastery and the other a nonprofit conservation organization – we have created a perfect blend of good karma. But how exactly does our coffee achieve carbon negativity? It's quite simple really. The production and distribution of 1 lb. of our coffee results in 4 lbs. of CO2 emissions. However, for each pound sold, a portion of the proceeds goes towards funding reforestation efforts in Ecuador’s Mindo cloud forest. These trees will eventually remove 54 lbs. of CO2 from the atmosphere, resulting in a net reduction of carbon emissions.

Our reforestation initiatives in the Northwestern Andes of Ecuador focus on planting native tree species in heavily deforested areas of the Mindo Cloud Forest region. These trees not only absorb significant amounts of carbon, but also provide vital habitat for numerous local bird species, help with soil conservation, and contribute to the replenishment of water tables. The Mindo Cloudforest Foundation collaborates with local landowners to create employment opportunities related to the preservation and restoration of the cloud forest ecosystem.

Our beans are not only shade-grown and organic certified, but also often fair-trade or Rain Forest Alliance certified. In addition, we support small, family-owned farms that may not be fair-trade eligible but produce exceptional coffee. All roasting and training are conducted at our roastery in Minneapolis, MN, where we are determined to make the entire operation carbon negative through initiatives such as using biodegradable coffee bags, energy-efficient lighting, and fuel-efficient roasting techniques.

Our organic coffee is USDA certified and sourced from fair trade and shade-grown Arabica beans. With a delightful flavor profile that boasts hints of soft caramel, bright citrus acidity, and a sweet, clean finish, our coffee is perfect for enjoyable sipping throughout the day. Each batch is meticulously roasted in our vintage 90 kilo German-built Probat drum roaster equipped with modern fuel-efficient ribbon burners, ensuring consistently excellent coffee with every brew.
